It’s that time of the year when we seek out fun fall activities to do with the family. At the top of the list is usually pumpkin patches and apple orchards because nothing screams fall more than apples and pumpkins.
Located just outside of Kalamazoo in Richland, MI is one of west Michigan’s favorite apple orchards, Gull Meadow Farms. Jammed packed with several fall activities it’s so much more than just an apple orchard. Our family visited this past weekend to see what all the buzz was about.
With over 3 acres of fun Pumpkin Lane is a kids favorite at Gull Meadow Farms. We spent nearly an hour enjoying all the fun activities.

I love how the Back Forty has a hand washing station so you don’t need to worry about your little ones petting the farm animals and putting their fingers in their mouths or something before you can get to a bathroom.
You can take a wagon ride to get to the Corn Maze, Apple Orchard and Pumpkin Patch.
Pumpkin’s are priced by the pound and you pay for them at checkout. If you’re short on time they have a big selection of pre-picked pumpkins near the entrance you can choose from.
U-Pick Apples are available by the peck or half bushel. Gull Meadow Farms harvests many varieties including McIntosh, Golden Delicious, Jonagold, & Fuji. If you’re thinking about picking apples please refer to their ripening calendar for the appropriate picking times.
Although we didn’t have the time to check it out, the Corn Maze looked really awesome. They offer a day time maze and a family friendly flashlight night maze. Please visit their site for pricing information to the Corn Maze.
The Alaskan Timbermen were at the farm this weekend so we had the privilege of seeing their Lumberjack Show. A lot of people came out to watch the show and they didn’t disappoint. The kids really enjoyed it.
A word of advice. Be sure to make a stop at the Apple Barn & Bakery for their award winning cider. The donuts are amazing as well. There was a long wait but it was well worth it. I ended up coming home with 2 dozen donuts and a gallon of cider.
If you come out during the weekday you can save money on the price of tickets for the fall family activities and petting farm. Prices are $8.00 Monday through Thursday and $9.50 Friday through Sunday.
A big thank you to Gull Meadow Farms for providing tickets for our family to come check out the farm.
