If you’ve been following along on our adventures you know I’m a big fan of stopping at the welcome centers when we cross the state line. I usually grab a highway map and some brochures that tell a little bit about the area and nearby attractions. And just an FYI maps are still very useful. The GPS can very easily lead you astray –especially in the mountains. And good luck even finding a signal in the backwoods.
The Florida Welcome Center has always been one of me and my kids favorites. There’s so much information and so much to do. I think my husband secretly wishes I would sleep through the Georgia-Florida line. Last time we were there I spent a good 20 minutes scoping out information, getting brochures, and taking pictures.
We even took a picture with a gator and got to taste some Florida orange juice and grapefruit juice. Nothing is quite as satisfying as orange juice straight from the source.
Do you stop at welcome centers? Do you have a favorite one?
