Cedar Point’s Indoor Water Park
Disclosure: As a Cedar Point blogger I received complementary passes to the water park, a one night hotel stay, and breakfast at Castaway Bay for me and my family. I was not required to make a blog post. All opinions remain my own.
This weekend our family got to enjoy the new “Room, Waterpark and Breakfast Buffet Package” at Castaway Bay in Sandusky, Ohio. As soon as we walked into the building we knew we were in for a treat. The theme and scenery was nicely planned out to make you feel like you were somewhere warm on an island retreat even though you just came in from the 20 degree snowy weather outside. Even the elevators were neatly decorated.
The theme continued on to the rooms. They were all named after sea creatures. We stayed in a Starfish room. We had two double beds which we slept comfortably on and a balcony I couldn’t get the kids to stay off of. The view was spectacular and the many honking geese chillin’ in the freezing water was some sort of calming. Ashley seriously asked me if she could sleep out there. When I clued her in about the 20 degree temperature outdoors she told me she could just bring a blanket.
It was nice to see Bath and Body Works in the bathroom. The soap, shampoo and conditioner all smelled really yummy.
We dinned in at Mango Mike’s for both their dinner and breakfast buffet. The waitress we had was really friendly. If you order the Room, Waterpark and Breakfast Buffet Package Castaway Bay will give you a voucher for Mango Mike’s breakfast buffet.
Big Daddy’s Snack Shack is located inside the waterpark and Ebb & Eddy’s Sweets & Eats serves deli food and sweet treats for quick Castaways on the move.
T.G.I Friday’s is conveniently connected to Castaway Bay and Bay Harbor -Elegant Waterfront Dining- is located in the Cedar Point Marina if you want to step outside to get a bite to eat.
The water park itself was a little piece of heaven. The kids didn’t want to leave.
All ages can enjoy the water park. Teens will really enjoy the slides –Tropical Tube Slides, Paradise Plunge, and Pineapple Pipeline. Rendezvous Run –a raft slide– is also perfect for tweens, teens, and adults.
There’s also a indoor hot tub that connects to the outdoor hot tub. Adults, tweens, teens, kids, and even babies that can walk are welcome to enjoy the hot tub.
If you have toddlers the Toddler’s Tide Pool is the perfect place to hang out.
