Sunday I headed to the motor city to watch the premier of the Holiday Baking Championship on Food Network. About 25 bloggers throughout Michigan participated in the event.
Comcast of Michigan hosted our event at their building in Sterling Heights. They made lovely hosts and provided us with some healthy snacks so we could balance out our sugar high with all the sweets we were shoving in our mouth.
I also met The Cappuccino Man – a mobile gourmet coffee catering service that serves both southern California and southeast Michigan. I’m very thankful they were there and kept me caffeinated throughout the event and on the drive home.
The Holiday Baking Contest consisted of eight bakers at all different skill levels. They all competed in hopes to become the champion and walk away with $50,000 in prize money.
We held our own little baking contest. It was optional to participate and a good number of bloggers entered including me. After taste testing and looking them all over we got to vote for our three favorite cookies. There was one grand prize winner and three runners up. Unfortunately I didn’t win anything, but I was really proud of myself for even attempting to bake. We may be eating Christmas cookies this year after all! Here’s a little sample of the tasty treats.
