Calling all middle school and high school students……
Do you have what it takes to develop a mobile app that creates concepts and solve problems in your school and community? If so, gather your team now!
The Verizon Innovative App challenge is now in its third year and has already encouraged thousand of students to develop an interest in science, math, engineering, and technology — the STEM subjects — and have awarded cash grants totaling $340,000 and 130 new tablets to the winning teams.
This year winners will be chosen at three levels:
Best in State – (1) middle school and (1) high school team in each state will be selected as having the best app concepts.
Best in Region (24) winners from the West, Midwest, South and East. Each Best in Region school will receive a $5,000 cash grant.
Best in Nation (8) winners, selected from the pool of Best in Region teams. Best in Nation schools will receive an additional $15,000 cash grant, and each winning team member will receive a new tablet, courtesy of Samsung Telecommunications America.
They will be taking submissions until Nov. 24th. Winners will be named January 2015.
