She carries the weight of the world on her shoulders.
A month has past, friends have stopped calling, the funeral is over,
Yet grief still overpowers her.
An empty chair still sits where she used to call her name,
Jelly beans and glasses still sit on her stand,
Pieces of her still remain.
In the empty house thoughts gather in her head,
She searches for a letter, something she left behind,
But a letter is nowhere to be found.
She screams out to God,
But it seems as if He’s not listening.
Sometimes I feel it’s all that I can do
Pain so deep that I can hardly move.” ~MercyMe
“So, here I am. What’s left of me.
When glory meets my suffering.” ~MercyMe
Even though a part of me has died
You take my heart and breathe it back to life
I fall into Your arms open wide
When the hurt and the Healer collide.” ~MercyMe
Praise God we have a Healer; one who takes on our pain when it’s just too great to bear. This post is dedicated to my sweet aunt Denise, my grandma’s caregiver for many years. This is not where it ends. We will see her again in Paradise. I love you.
