Happy 4th of July everyone!! I hope you are all having an amazing day! TY really doesn’t like fireworks. They are too overwhelming and loud. So, we have different ways of celebrating here.
Yesterday we made some red jello playdough and blue salt playdough. I let the kids decorate it with red, white, and blue colors for the 4th. You can find the recipe for the salt dough here, and the recipe for the jello playdough here. We substituted the pumpkin jello for raspberry.
I put some jewels, beads, poker chips, pipe cleaners, and squishy balls on a plate and had them decorate their playdough. To the left is LA’s. She made the American flag on hers. To the right is TY’s. He told me his was a face. I thought it was quite creative and festive at the same time.
After they were done decorating their playdough I let them play with it. The jewels and add ons made it quite cool and very sensory oriented.
What are you doing for the 4th of July?
