Friday we hosted a “Haunting Hour” party sponsored by The Hub TV network brought to you by Mommy Parties. We invited a couple of the neighbor kids and one of Kylie’s friends over for the party. Kylie made these cool invitations to pass out to our guests.
We were provided with these amazingly cool t-shirts, glow fangs, glow slap bracelets, Grampires Part 1 and 2 DVD, bumper stickers, and a party guide.
I bought little goodie bags that were on clearance at the dollar store and filled them each with a glow fang and glow slap bracelet and some candy. I passed them out as the guests arrived.
I set the remaining candy in this cool little bowl. When you reach in it says, “give me some candy.”
Here’s the table set up with all the goodies. I bought some cheap snackies that were quite a big hit.
I know this picture is dark but you can still get the idea. I love the faces here and expressions as they’re watching the movie.
What did the critics think of Grampires?
The age range of my guests and children were huge. That being said, I will start with the teenagers. Kylie and her friend were entertained and sat through the whole thing. They didn’t think it was scary at all. They also found it to be a bit corny. LA and the neighbor fall in the tween category. They were entertained as well. They thought it was pretty funny, and neither one was frightened. The younger kids range from 7 to 9. They liked it the most and sat glued to the tv. When asked if they were scared, they said no.
My younger crowd was the most entertained by the series. I would recommend this series for children 7-10, especially boys. I remember the good old scares from TV shows when I was younger. This series provided that. I was able to watch a fun show with my kids during Halloween and not have to worry about it being a slasher movie.
Here’s a couple pictures we took of our Grampire fans.
It was pretty important for the pumpkin to be a prop in this picture.
I would like to thank Mommy Parties and The Hub for allowing us to host the Grampires Haunted Hour Party. The kids had a great time. Tune in to The Hub to watch more of R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour series.
Disclosure: I was sent the promotional materials listed above to pass out to my guests in exchange for posting a review. I was not required to make a positive review. All opinions are that of my own, my children, and guests.
